PPP to thwart attempt to delay elections

BAHAWALPUR - No political party other than Pakistan People’s Party can bring real ‘political tsunami’ and its Chairman Bilawal Zadari Bhutto is the true leader of the young generation. The general elections will be held on stipulated time and there is no chance of delay in this regard. The Pakistan People’s Party and its allies will make a sweep in the upcoming elections due to their vision and political thinking. The PPP will never hesitate to render any sacrifices for the survival of democracy in the country.
This was stated by former MNA and PPP District President Aamir Yar Waran, District General Secretary Muhammad Ali Ahsan and District Secretary Information Muhammad Saleem Bhatti in a joint statement issued here on Tuesday.
They pointed out that PPP slain chairperson Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for the democracy and now democracy was at the hit list of ‘political terrorists.’ They claimed that it was the struggle and sacrifices of the PPP that democracy was restored in its original form and it was for the first time in the country’s history that a democratic government would complete its tenure.
They claimed that the PPP would form government in Punjab as well after a landslide victory in the upcoming elections with the support of people. Certain elements want to weaken democracy through the so-called long march by getting delayed the elections.
They said that interim government would be announced after March 16, 2013, adding that the Independent Election Commission would hold free and fair elections and transfer the government to the new political power.
