Rawalpindi - The auto-theft gangs and robbers ruled the city on Wednesday by lifting five vehicles and two motorcycle, and looting cash, gold, mobile phones, wristwatches and other valuables from helpless citizens at gunpoint. Police penned in cases on the complaints of the victims but could not arrest even a single robber/vehicle lifter or recover booty so far, sources said. According to details, the worst hit areas were in New Town where unknown auto theft gangs picked up three vehicles and a motorcycle. The details of stolen vehicles were Suzuki Mehran car (RIA-4158) owned by Muhammad Asghar; Toyota Corolla car (VH-096) of Tariq Javed; Atif Bukhari's Suzuki Mehran car bearing registration number IDH-2131 and motorcycle of Khurram Shehzad (JN-812). Similarly, a Suzuki Mehran car (KY-722) and motorcycle of Muhammad Sultan (RIN-7246) were taken away by vehicle lifters from the jurisdiction of PS Cantonment while a Suzuki carry van (RIB-318) of Iftikhar Hussain from the precinct of PS Kallar Syedan. Malik Sibat Hussain reported to PS Sadiqabad that his Suzuki Mehran car (RIA-9602) was stolen from Sadiqabad.On the other hand, two armed dacoits entered a medical store located at Jhanda Cheechi, the area of PS Civil Line, pointed guns on the owner Abid Niazi and looted Rs 35,000, mobile cards worth Rs 50,000, wrist watches and 2 mobile phones on gun point. After committing the crime, the robbers managed to escape from the scene.A gang of three robbers also barged into a store of Muhammad Tariq located in Waris Khan and stolen sacks of rice, milk, cooking oil cartons and other stuff to the tune of thousand of rupees.Naurin Majid daughter of Abdul Majid appeared before PS Ganjmandi officials and lodged a compliant that she was sitting in her house along with her grandmother when two boys carrying pistols in their hands entered and made them hostage at gunpoint. Later, the robbers took away a trunk containing prize bonds worth Rs 950,000, gold ornaments, bracelets and property documents and fled.A young man was kidnapped by unknown people from the limits of PS Ratta Amral. Tanzila Bibi told police that his son Zahid Ullah was kidnapped by unknown kidnappers. Police taking action filed cases and stated investigation.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
