Detaining 3 persons in private torture cell SHO, ASI face the music

District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Gohar Nafees has suspended from service City Police SHO Sub-Inspector Tauqeerul Hassan Ranjha and ‘his right hand’ ASI Irshad Ahmed with immediate effect for running an illegal private torture cell at a local rice mills here in Daska city.
On Monday, a special police team comprising senior police officials led by Additional SP Mehmoodul Hassan Gillani, unearthed the private torture cell set up by the SHO and ASI and recovered three illegally detained and brutally tortured persons from there.
The team raided a room in a local rice mills in Daska city, which was being used as a private torture cell by the Daska City Police for the last several months.
The three illegally detained and tortured persons were identified as Iqbal, Khalid and Aslam. The police team also recovered wooden sticks and other material which was being used for torturing detainees. The families of the recovered persons told the raiding Additional SP Mehmoodul Hassan Gillani that the accused police officials of Daska City Police had also extorted Rs200, 000 from the family for not torturing the persons.
The family added that the Daska City Police had illegally detained the three persons without any case.
