KARACHI- The federal government has withdrawn its appeal to review former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani's bail in Sindh High Court.

FIA had submitted a petition against the approval of Gillani's bail. The petition was forwarded to the High Court by Deputy Attorney General, Aslam Butt, requesting the earlier filed petition be withdrawn.

The plea argues that the previous petition to review the bail was filed without the consent of the Law Ministry. It emphasised the approval of the Secretary Law being obligatory for filing any petition as per the law.

The petition can however be reverted on the orders of the government.
