ISLAMABAD Bench and Bar must have cordial relations with each other to solve the problems of litigants so as to provide relief to them, said Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry while welcoming the members of the delegations of High Court Bar Association, Bahawalpur headed by its President Muhammad Aslam Khan and District Bar Hafizabad headed by its president and comprising more than 30 members and office bearers of both Bars. Independent and impartial mechanism for dispensation of justice is the only way to ensure stability and good governance, said the Chief Justice. He further emphasised, People have great expectations from judiciary so, we will have to work hard to redress their grievances and protect their rights. The members of the Bar appreciated the stand taken by the Chief Justice on principles which was very firm and beacon of light for rest of judiciary because the movement which was actually struggle for rule of law and supremacy of constitution was supported by civil society, legal fraternity and media. They further assured his lordship that they will always stand by the Chief Justice in future. The Chief Justice reciprocated their sentiments and praised their sacrifices by dint of which they kept the movement alive and dissipated the message of rule of law and supremacy of constitution in the nook and corner of the world and that message is repeatedly debated and discussed even in the rural areas of the country till today. Furthermore the members discussed with the Chief Justice, issues and matters of interest of the legal/judicial fraternity. The bar members assured the Chief Justice of their full support and cooperation. They also praised his lordships role for eradication of corruption from judiciary. They also appreciated National Judicial Policy to provide speedy justice to litigants. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry appreciated the cooperation extended by lawyers community in the process of dispensation of justice and expressed the hope that lawyers will continue to come up to the expectation of the whole nation in terms of reducing the backlog of cases. The delegations invited his lordship to visit the Bars of Bahawalpur Division and District Bar Hafizabad. The Chief Justice of Pakistan accepted invitations and assured them to visit the Bars soon.
