RAWALPINDI - Police found the dead body of an eight-year-old girl here in Sanghar Town on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Asma Bibi, daughter of Mursalin, a taxi driver by profession. She went missing from her home mysteriously a few days ago. Her dead body was sent to hospital for autopsy.
According to Raja Musaddiq, station house officer (SHO) police station airport, police found the dead body lying in a deserted plot on the information of passersby. He said that the girl went missing on June 5, 2014 from her home located at Sanghar Town; however, the parents of the girl had not reported the incident to police.
Replying to a question, Raja said that no sign of torture was found on the dead body, adding, "Only medico-legal report will ascertain the cause of death."
Meanwhile, a 12-year-old son accidentally shot her mother dead while playing with the pistol of his father at his home in Sangori area, while unknown assailants murdered a man on Double Road, Shamasabad.
According to police, a young boy Usman Manzoor was playing with pistol of his father when he pulled trigger mistakenly firing a bullet which hit his mother sitting along with him in Sangori. The lady died on the spot, police said.
Police said that Manzoor, the father of boy, did not want to lodge a case against his son as he has forgiven him.
In the other incident, Ghulam Rasool, son of Shah Muhammad, was going home on his motorcycle when four unknown criminals intercepted him and later shot him dead. The deceased was working in Holy Family Hospital as dispenser and hailed from Toba Tek Singh. The criminals managed to escape after committing the crime.
Iftikhar Ahmed, a police officer who is investigating the case, said that it was not a dacoity bid; rather the man was killed over old enmity. "The killers did not take away mobile phone, cash and purse of the deceased and police recovered all this stuff from the pockets of the deceased," he added. He said that the dead body was sent to HFH for autopsy.
