2,091 Pakistanis evacuated from Libya: FO

ISLAMABAD - According to Foreign Office, a chartered PIA flight brought 466 Pakistanis from Tripoli, Libya, on Tuesday. Another chartered PIA flight would bring home 199 Pakistanis from Cairo on Wednesday. As of today, 2,091 Pakistani nationals have been repatriated to Pakistan. A second chartered PIA flight left for Tripoli today (Wednesday). The flight would return on March 8 and is expected to bring home 460 Pakistani nationals. The operation to evacuate Pakistanis would continue till all those desirous of leaving Libya for their safety are brought to Pakistan. It may be mentioned that Pakistanis in Libya who had moved to the neighbouring countries including Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Turkey have been repatriated to Pakistan either through special/chartered or commercial flights.
