SUKKUR - Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Sunday stated that the Opposition parties are willing to negotiate with the govt, over the Terms of References (TORs) of the Investigation Commission formed to probe into the Panama Leaks, as dialogue is the beauty of democracy.

Speaking to journalists after inaugurating the Computerised Tomography (CT) scan section of the Civil Hospital in Sukkur, he that so far no contact has been made from the govt side, adding, that the Parliament is the constituency of the Prime Minister , “if he wants to avoid it, it’s his will”, he said.

He said that the govt is talking about levelling accusations whereas the Opposition parties have not made the TORs without any purpose.

He said that it would be great if Nawaz Sharif would not refer to being afraid from the investigation of the matter, adding, that the politicians should not be afraid.

He further said that if the Prime Minister is willing to face the nation, there wouldn’t be anything nicer than this.

He also said that investigation should be carried out against all those named in the Panama Leaks.

Referring to loan waivers, he said that they are another category of criminals who also need to be curtailed.

He further said that he favoured negotiations in regards to the investigation of the matter from day one.

OPP TORS COMPLICATING ISSUE: IRFAN

Adviser to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui on Sunday said that the Opposition's Terms of Reference (TORs) were not aimed at addressing the Panama Papers issue but to complicate the matter.

Talking to the media in Karachi, the Adviser said that even the serious Opposition personalities did not agree with those TORs as they considered the same a person-specific.

The Adviser said that the govt and the allied parties were seriously contacting the Opposition to resolve the matter at the earliest so that the Judicial Commission could start its work.

He recalled that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had announced the formation of a Commission on August 12, 2014 to probe alleged rigging in the elections, but the attitude of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) delayed the process for nine months and then the Judicial Commission presented its report in four months.

Irfan Siddiqui said that the people and various segments of the society termed the Opposition's TORs "Terms of Revenge".

Earlier, the Adviser met with prominent writers, poets and academics as well as literary personalities in the Sindh metropolis.
