LAHORE - A ceremony in connection with Iqbal Day was held at Government Dyal Singh College here on Monday. Principal of the college Prof Dr Muhammad Kalim presided over the programme while Prof Tanveer Ahmad Butt, a renowned scholar of Iqbaliyat, was the chief guest. The college students delivered speeches and recited Kalam-e-Iqbal on the occasion. Prof Butt spoke about Iqbals philosophy of 'Khudi and his concept of 'Ishq. Principal Dr Kalim, in his presidential address, advised the students to inculcate in them such qualities, which would enable them to regain the lost glory of their ancestors. He also awarded the outstanding students with cash prizes. Prof Nasir Siddiqui, Chairman Societies Board, thanked the Guest of Honour and other participants. He asked the students to take part in co-curricular activities so as to face the challenges of life. Prof Mumtaz Hussain Naeem, Secretary Societies Board conducted the programme.
