Indian troops’ unprovoked firing hurts woman

KOTLI (AJK) - An elderly woman was grievously injured in an unprovoked firing by the Indian troops across the Line of Control in Nikayal sector on Tuesday, officials said. Assistant Commissioner Nikayal Sub Division Chaudhry Muhammad Ayub told this correspondent that the Indian troops targeted village Balakot, resorting intermittent firing without any provocation.
“A 75-year-old woman identified as Baatan Begum sustained severe injuries due to the aggression by the Indian troops,” he said, adding the injured was rushed to DHQ Hospital Kotli where her condition is stated to be critical.
"On Tuesday, India continued the unprovoked firing throughout the day, targeting the villages close to the LoC in Nakayal sector, Kotli district," the official said quoting the reports pouring in from various firing-hit villages in Nikayal sector.
