LAHORE - Led by PML-N central leader and MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, the N-League held a big rally at Empress Road area of NA-122 here yesterday in support of the party candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq who is facing the PTI’s Aleem Khan in the by-election on October 11.
The rally was also attended by party leaders including Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Saad Rafiq,Talah Ch, Akhtar Rasool and others.
A large number of PML-N supporters and voters took part in the rally who throughout the way chanted slogans in support of the party, Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif while carrying party flags, banners and placards.
On the way workers exhibited tremendous zeal and enthusiasm and danced to the beat of drums and carried out fire works at differences places.
Horse dance was also showcased during the rally which according to an estimate was spread over two kilometers track.
Rose petals were showered on the participants while a number of vehicles, motorcycles, and motorcycle rickshaws also participated. Reception camps were set up at various spots.
A heavy police force was also deputed to meet any untoward incident while traffic on the side roads of rally track remained clogged up for hours.
Addressing the highly charged up participants of the rally, Hamza Shahbaz said on October 11 the people will bury the politics of lies of Imran Khan.
He said that Imran Khan has vexed the tiger and now the tiger will not remain calm.
He said Imran Khan spoke to a Julsi at Dongi ground (last Sunday) and they will show him tomorrow what a jalsa means. On October 11, he said, the competition is between jazba of PML-N and the qabza of PTI wherein former is sure to carry the day.
Hamza said that huge attendance of the PML-N voters in the rally is verdict against the PTI and a message that their conscience cannot be purchased by the PTI candidate.
The PML-N leadership, he said, has always upheld the values of decency but Imran Khan crossed all limits in this regard.
That is why, he said, the masses have rejected Imran Khan’s politics as they hate his foul tongue. He also blamed Imran for telling lies and said, Imran Khan cannot go to the bed unless he had levelled allegation and told lies.
Imran’s behaviour is not acceptable to conscious and loyal people of Lahore. He said that Imran Khan held the last general elections rigged but the Judicial Commission proved he was wrong.
Same way, the people will reject Imran Khan’s politics of lies by voting out the PTI candidate and supporting Sadiq to bring victory on October 11.
He also asked Imran Khan to shun the politics of protest and show maturity to take the country to its destiny of peace and prosperity.
He also commended the PML-N policies under Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, which he added, have brought about peace in Karachi, by rooting out terrorism and bring prosperity and development to the country.
