ISLAMABAD: Auditor general report has disclosed that Ministry of Water and Power suffered a loss of Rs 74 billion in last one year.
Ministry had blamed PSO for delay in providing the fuel, but it was rejected by the audit officials. According to report of year 2015-2016, Jamshoro power Generation Company suffered a loss of Rs 26 billion as they were provided less fuel. Rs 6.2 billion loss was caused as government power plants were kept shut. Rs 6.4 bilion loss was suffered due to unavailability of electricity from Karkey rental power plant.
Audit officials also revealed that Rs 3.1 billion were not received from Chinese company, which is constructing Nandipur power plant. Auditor general gave proposal to take action against those responsible.
