KHYBER AGENCY - An infant boy was declared polio positive in Mirdad Khel area of tehsil Landi Kotal of Khyber Agency, health officials said yesterday. With this case the number of polio-infected children has reached to seven in 2015 in Khyber Agency. The sources said that 15-months-old Abdur Rehman, son of Lal Mula Shinwari, has been declared polio infected after his complete stool tests were conducted in the laboratory. The child has been administered seven doses of anti-polio drops and has been granted complete cycle of doses against all eight diseases of the children, health official said.
Agency Surgeon Dr Niaz confirmed it and said team has been dispatched to the area to probe in to case.
It was first polio case registered in Landi Kotal in the past two years, sources said.
Earlier six polio cases have been recorded in Khyber Agency mostly from the militancy hit areas of tehsil Bara.
