8 banned outfit activists booked

SIALKOT - The Daska Saddar police have registered a case against eight leaders of banned organisation Jaish-e-Muhammad for collecting funds and preaching 'Jehad. The case has been registered on the report of sub-inspector Liaqat Ali after the three weeks of the incident. According to the FIR, the eight leaders namely Mualana Mufti Abdul Rauf Asghar, the brother of Jaish-e-Muhammad Chief Maulana Masud Azhar, Maulana Shafiq Ahmed, Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Qasmi of Gujranwala), Qari Asadullah, Qari Ashfaq Ahmed, Qari Muhammad Abbas of Multan, Qari Muhammad Ashraf of Bahawalpur and Arshad Ali of Daska had been inviting people towards as they called 'Jehad on loud speakers. They also collected funds during the Azmat-e-Quran Conference held on July 17,2011 at Darul Uloom Abdul Bin Mubarak in Mundeyki Goraya, Daska here. More than 2,500 persons had attended this conference, the FIR revealed. This case has been registered after the three weeks of the conference. According to the senior police officials, the Daska police have started investigation, with no arrest so far.
