PESHAWAR - A fresh polio case surfaced on Wednesday in Khyber Agency, taking the total number of crippling poliovirus cases to 50 this year in the country.
As per reports, the NIH, Islamabad, has confirmed that Sanaullah s/o Namdar resident of Mirdad Khel tehsil Landi Kotal has been poliovirus affected. The fresh affected Sanaullah is 2-year-old and it is stated to be polio’s 50th case of the year. It has been learnt that a total of 296 polio cases were reported across the country in 2014, compared to only 93 in 2013 and 58 in 2012.–Staff Reporter
