PESHAWAR – At least six persons were killed and a man was injured in two separate incidents in Peshawar on Saturday.
Police sources said the first incident occurred near Governor House when unknown armed persons opened fire on a vehicle at main Sher Shah Suri Road.
The incident resulted in killing of two persons who were son and father while another person was seriously injured. He was shifted to Lady reading Hospital Peshawar.
The killed persons were identified as Younis Baig and his son Saifullah while the injured person was identified as Inamullah. The injured person was stated stable till filing of this report.
Police rushed the site and launched search operation in the area.
All the killed and injured persons belonged to Bahanamari area of Peshawar where police has started investigation.
Meanwhile Police recovered four dead bodies from Budho Samar Bagh area Jurisdiction of Pahari Pora police station.
The dead bodies were identified Nawaz Mansoor, Mesri Khan and Ashfaq. All the four persons were shifted to mortuary of Khyber Teaching Hospital for post mortem.
Meanwhile, two women died while six other persons sustained injuries when an over speeding passenger van plunged into a deep ditch in Mohamad Agency on Saturday.
According to details, a passenger van on its way from Peshawar to Bajaur Agency plunged into a deep ditch when it was taking turn at Naqhai Kandao village.
As a result of which, two women who were identified as wives of Gohar Khan and Azizur Rehman died on the spot, while six other passengers also got multiple wounds.
Local soon after the incident rushed to the site and pulled out the dead bodies and injured passengers.
The injured were shifted to agency headquarters hospital Ghalanai while those of them serious were refereed to Peshawar for treatment.
