Fata peace govt’s top priority: Kausar


PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar has given a go-ahead for establishment of Kohat campus of Peshawar-based University of Engineering and Technology at Sheikhan in Kohat.
He has also asked for progress on acquisition of 1000 kanal land, for which, he said, Rs 250 million have already been earmarked. The campus to be developed on the pattern of a modern university will house the market-oriented disciplines with state of the art educational, research and training facilities.
The governor also performed earth breaking ceremony for construction of a magnificent Ahmad Faraz Park; named after renowned Urdu poet, late Ahmad Faraz at Jarma; just northern side of the Kohat University of Science and Technology. 
The park to be built over a hill top; measuring 223 kanal on the pattern of Daman-e-Koh of Islamabad will be completed at a cost of Rs 58.70 million and will encompass, restaurant, family enclave, children amusement, small zoo, green terracing belts, walking tracks and long stairs. The governor also desired to establish a magnificent library to be named after the towering figure of the Urdu literature, late Ahmad Faraz.  
The governor who besides the Commissioner, DIG and notables of the city was also accompanied by the Vice Chancellor of the Kohat University of Science and Technology, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani in his brief remarks on the occasion, described both the mega projects a master piece ones in the history of socio-economic uplift initiatives in the southern districts of the province.
“Both the projects are envisaged to bring a visible change in the socio-economic uplift of not only the Kohatis but the people of surrounding districts and tribal agencies as well”, he added. Indeed, he said, I have the honour of not only conceiving all the maga projects, including Khushalgarh Bridge, Pak-Japan Friendship Tunnel and even Indus Highway but also witnessed their materialisation.
The governor also declared to ensure construction of the new building of the Kohat Medical Institute; just adjacent to the Kohat District Headquarters Hospital at Kohat Township. The hospital, he said, after having been developed as Category-A health institution will be a leap forward in provision of quality healthcare facilities for the Kohatis. 
Barrister Masood Kausar further pointed out that restoration of the law and order in Fata was the top most priority of the government after successfully bringing normalisation in the province and we are successfully heading forward to achieve this goal. In fact, he said, situation in a couple of tribal agencies has almost been normalised, and leaving certain pockets, law and order has also been restored in all the tribal belts. He while paying rich tributes to the jawans and officers of security forces and the general public who have sacrificed their precious lives for making this possible, especially mentioned the contribution of the people of tribal areas and added that without their support it would not have been achievable. He also urged the people of the area to maintain complete unity and cohesion in their ranks and files and spare no effort for ensuring better future both for the country and the nation.
