Political ‘gypsies’ cannot bring revolution: Fazl

HAFIZABAD - Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman has declared that revolution cannot be brought about by raising hollow slogans. Terming PTI as a group of ‘Political Gypsies’, he said by implementing the constitution and rule of law, the country can be put on the right track.
He was addressing the local newsmen at Jamia Ashrafia where he condoled the death of Late Maulana Muhammad Altaf Hussain, member of the Central Executive Committee of the JUI. He paid glowing tributes to late Maulana for preaching Islam for over a half century. He expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the Maulana’s son, Allama Saeed Ahmad Awan and offered Fateh for the departed soul.
He said despite the rosy slogan of ‘Roti Kapra or Makan’ masses were deprived of their necessities and the present government has absolutely failed to come up to their expectations.
“Unfortunately our politics, economy and defence are in the hands of western countries and the establishment was involved in forming governments as per their wishes. If establishment stopped indirect involvement, the real democratic order can be brought about,” he maintained.
A calculated conspiracy was being hatched to create an atmosphere of confrontation among different institutions, he said. “We fear to utter a word regarding courts. Judges’ judgments should speak and not they themselves.”
Referring to Memogate, he said Mansoor Ijaz had succeeded in his conspiracy of creating atmosphere of confrontation among the institutions. However, he said judiciary and the parliamentary committee should reveal the real facts.
Referring to dictator Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf, he lamented that his action for abrogating the constitution was being ignored. “We have no objection on his return to Pakistan but have objection over his misdeeds. Due to his unconstitutional acts, 35,000 innocent Pakistanis had faced martyrdom and country was inflicted loss of Rs70 billion. He must be taken to task for his unconstitutional acts,” he added.
To a question, he said that undiluted democracy would be brought about in the country when the establishment stopped its hidden activities to bring its favourites to power.
