QUETTA - Unidentified people blew up a 16-inch diameter gas pipeline in Pir Koh area of Dera Bugti on Saturday, suspending gas supply to the gas purification plant in Sui. A senior official of the Balochistan Levies, while confirming the incident said that an explosive device had been planted along the gas pipeline that was detonated. As a result gas supply to the purification plant from Well No 40 and 41 was suspended, he added. Law-enforcement agencies rushed to the spot soon after the explosion and cordoned off the area. A case has been registered against the unidentified terrorists and investigations are underway. No group had claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
