Govt urged to review education policy

VEHARI - Scores of literacy coordinators and the NCHD teachers took out a protest rally in front of Vehari Press Club against the government anti-job policy here the other day. The rally was led by coordinator Gulzar Ahmad, Asif Gujjar and Wahid Nawaz. On the occasion, they said that after closing 12,000 community schools 3,30,000 children were deprived of education. LC Rehman Ahmad and finance manager M Arshad said that the government was not paying salaries of teachers and teachers were facing financial problems. The teachers also demanded immediate releases of their salaries. They also demanded regularisation of their jobs. They also announced that if the government did not take steps in this regard they will again take a protest rally and stage a sit-in in front of the press club.
