JHANG - A number of people from different walks of life attended a function held in connection with the completion of 50-year editorship of Nawa-i-Waqt Group Managing Director Majid Nizami at Jinnah Hall.
The function was attended by a large number of journalists, politicians, lawyers, businessmen, students and civil servants. Speakers on the occasion, termed Majid Nizami a legend of journalism by acknowledging his journalistic services. Paying glowing tributes to Mr Majid Nizami, the speakers said that he was a true Muslim, Pakistani and lighthouse for other journalists.
The speakers further said that his writing had a history of life-long struggle. The speakers said that the strong stance of Majid Nizami on all the national issues including nuclear programme, water disputes with India, ideology of Pakistan always prevented the rules from deviating from the right path, adding that the nation is proud of him.
The speakers shed light on different aspects of his life and profession. They said that the media group always defended ideology of Pakistan. They said that his life reflects his zeal, courage, love for Pakistan and unshakable stance, adding that he always spoke the truth even before cruel rulers and dictators.
They said that Majid Nizami for 50 years, remained undisputed editor in the country and gained respect and love from the people. Regarding the role of Nawa-i-Waqat Media Group, the speakers termed it the only media group which had taken freedom of the press as a mission. They said that the group promoted the Two-Nation Theory, Kashmir issue, ideology of Pakistan and Islam, observing that the effort would be written in history in golden worlds.
