Islamabad- Differences emerged among members of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) as 10 members of the body met to review recommendations submitted against Geo News.

According to media reports the body decided to forward its recommendations to the law ministry. The PEMRA members will meet again on May 16 to decide the matter in the light of recommendations of the law ministry. Majority of the members were of the view that the matter should not be decided in haste. They said that the matter should be decided according to law when one of the members Israr Abbasi said the ISI had submitted the complaint for the first time.

Israr Ali Abbasi said he recommended that Geo’s license should be canceled but the majority of members wanted to take the matter to the Council of Complaint of the PEMRA.
