Report mentions no rigging: Pervaiz

ISALAMABAD - Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Saturday said that the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) in its report had mentioned that no rigging was committed in NA 122 in general election 2013.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders were in the habit of telling lies and misleading the people, he said in a statement.
He said the PTI leaders should better read NADRA’s report carefully as it clearly mentioned that no rigging was done in NA 122.
Out of 18,000, only 500 votes, including duplicates, were found invalid while counter-foil issues were procedural irregularities, he added.
Pervaiz Rashid said thumb impressions of 73,478 voters with good quality ink, were visible and verified with valid Computerized National Identity Cards.
He said in the recent bye-election of a Karachi constituency, PTI activists were found rigging, who were punished on the spot.
