100 Metro feeder busses planned

MULTAN : The Punjab Mass Transit Authority has decided to run 100 luxury busses on 11 feeder routes linked to 21 metro stations and the shuttle service will begin by the mid of December 2016, disclosed metro sources.

The authority has finalised contract for running busses on feeder routes and the feeder busses will be linked to 21 metro stations on its 18.5 kilometre long route. Metro sources said that the commuters holding metro bus cards traveling by these feeder busses will be offered special discount. Sources added that the routes of the feeder busses had been fixed after a survey and stops had also been decided on these routes. “Beautiful waiting and sitting areas will be established at each stop of the feeder busses,” sources further said.

The route between Dera Adda and Chowk Kumharanwala is 6.8 kilometre and 17 stops have been allocated for this route. Similarly, 11 stops have been fixed on the route between Shujabad Canal and Afshar Chowk via Sooraj Miani Road and Ghanta Ghar, 14 for route between Ghanta Ghar and Fertiliser Factory via Masoom Shah Road, 10 between Vehari Chowk and Nag Shah, nine between Piran Ghaib and Chowk Kumharanwala, seven between Khooni Burj and Fatima Jinnah Town via Chungi No-14, 10 between Dunyapur bypass and Chungi No-14 via People’s Colony, seven between Wazirabad and BCG Chowk, 11 between Railway Station and Chungi No-9, 11 between Faiz-e-Aam Nursery Nawabpur Road and Afshar Chowk and 13 between BCG Chowk and Railway Station.
