At least seven persons including two women were killed and more than 10 others injured when two passenger vehicles collided with each other here in Haripur on early Wednesday morning.
According to details, a Mansehra bound passenger bus coming from Lahore and a Rawalpindi bound wagon coming from Abbottabad collided head-on due to slippery road caused by heavy rainfall at Dounali Pul in Shah Maqsood area of Haripur.
As a result of accident seven persons including two women were killed on the spot while 10 others sustained injuries.
The police and rescue teams reached the scene of accident and shifted the injured to hospital where according to hospital sources condition of some injured persons was serious.
Four among the deceased were identified as Muhammad Aqeel, Aamir Shahzad, Ali Muhammad and Nasir Khan while identity of three has not been confirmed. The passengers killed and injured in accidents hailed from districts Mansehra and Abbottabad.
The eyewitnesses and injured passengers said that drivers of both vehicles were over speeding and due to slipperiness caused by heavy rains in the area, could not managed control over the vehicles which resulted in dreadful accident.
