GUJRANWALA - Two minor children including a girl died while their other family members were rescued when the rooftop of their dilapidated housed caved in here in Authian village in the Aroop Police precincts, the other night.
Reportedly, it started rain with thunderstorm in the midnight which continued for a long time. Meanwhile, the rooftop of the house caved in living the entire family buried alive.
Following the incident, the locals as well as Rescue 1122 started rescue operation immediately. Meanwhile, the rescue workers pulled out the bodies of eight-year-old Sadia and five-year-old Sher Muhammad while three other in injured condition.
Those rescued by Rescue 1122 were identified as 22-year-old Ahsan Raza, 25-year-old Qasim and 9-year-old Aftab Shahbaz. They were shifted to DHQ Hospital. It is to be noted that rain continued during the rescue operation and villagers helped out the rescue workers to get the family members out and that’s why most of them were pulled out alive.
