Five killed in Afghan blasts

KUNDUZ (AFP) Five people, including a member of Afghanistans peace council, were killed in two blasts here on Saturday. A remote-controlled bomb was detonated in Kunduz city and targeted a former mujahedeen commander who was also a member of the high peace council, Sayed SarwarHusseini, Kunduz provincial police spokesman told AFP. This morning a remotely controlled bomb placed on a bicycle detonated in Sar Chawk area of Kunduz city, killing two including Shir Mohammad Arab a former jihadi commander and wounding 16 others, he said. The wounded civilians were taken to a local hospital and were in a stable condition, he said.
