GUJRANWALA-The Ittehad Group candidates for the slot of Gujranwala mayor and deputy mayor surprised people when they reached returning officers office on bicycles for filing nomination papers here the other day.
It was reported that Yahya Butt and Rizwan Cheema, elected as UC chairmen independently in local bodies’ elections, reached returning officer’s office on bicycles to file nomination papers.
Talking to the media at returning officers’ office, they said that they are representing the middle class and determined to fight with elite class candidates.
Meanwhile, the PML-N candidates for mayor and deputy mayor slots including Sheikh Sarwat Ikram, Salman Khalid Butt and Rana Maqsood also submitted their nomination papers.
