KHAIRPUR: The treasure hunt and greed led unidentified men to dig up a shrine in Khairpur – native area of Sindh’s Chief Minister – and abduct the remains of the saint.
According to details, unidentified men arrived at a village Fateh Ali Lashari nearby Kot Deji where they stormed the shrine of Nodil Shah Bukhari. They held the caretaker of the shrine, Syed Qurban Shah Bukhari hostage, dug up the grave and fled while abducting the saint’s body.
This sparked anger and backlash among the devotees and followers of the saint who demonstrated and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
The police said that unidentified men came here for ‘treasure hunt’ and digging up the grave was part of their quest.
Further investigation of the incident is ongoing.
