Mystery of missing trader solved as body recovered

HAFIZABAD - The disappearance mystery of a local businessman Naveed Anwar, a resident of Mohallah Qadirabad who went missing three days ago, was resolved following the recovery of his mutilated dead body from the roof of a cellphone shop near Alim Chowk in Gujranwala on Thursday.  The motive of the offence could not be ascertained. However, his body was sent to the city morgue for autopsy. The police also claimed to have recovered 30 litres of acid and a syringe. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
Strike observed: The traders of Gujranwala Road observed a complete strike and took out a protest rally against the torture on a trader. They burnt tyres and blocked Gujranwala Road for about an hour against to vent off anger against  one Muhammad Ilyas, a resident of Kot Hassan Khan for manhandling a trader namely Muhammad Asif. However, the personnel of the City Police rushed to the spot and assured the protesters of legal action against the accused. According to protesters, there was a dispute between Malik Ilyas and Asif over payment of Rs0.8 million which was borrowed by Malik Ilays.
However, Malik Ilyas handed over his car to Asif to settle the loan. However, he staged the drama of car-snatching and he along with his armed accomplices raided Asif's shop, manhandled him and threatened him with dire consequences.
Later, they dispersed peacefully.
