BAHAWALPUR - A man has blamed the Anayti Police negligence for the killing of his son by the kidnappers. He also accused the police of protecting the kidnappers, saying that though the police had registered a case of the murder, it did not mentioned in the FIR the kidnappers demand for ransom. He also set a 24 hours deadline for the arrest of the accused, saying that they will launch a massive protest and block Khairpur Tamewali Road if the police missed the deadline.
Talking to the media, Zulfiqar, father of nine-year-old deceased child Muhammad Ramzan and his brother Muhammad Arsahd told that his son was abducted by the accused on February 19 who demanded Rs3 million as ransom for the child’s release. He claimed that the Anayti Police arrested one of the accused namely Muhammad Hanif but released him after two days. He said that the body of Ramzan was found from the fields in front of the police station on February 22.
He pointed out that the kidnappers kept his son in the house of a local namely Umar, who also gave refuge to the criminal Hanif. But the police did not included Umar and Hanif in the investigation and instead released Hanif him.
Zulfiqar claimed that the police attitude towards them was cruel and were siding with the accused which was evident from the fact that they had not mention the kidnappers demand for ransom in the FIR. He claimed that the police were facilitating the accused after being bribed. He alleged that Umar had killed his son along with his accomplices.
He also set a 24 hours deadline for the arrest of the accused, saying that they would be compelled to launch a massive protest and block Khairpur Tamewali Road if the Anayti Police failed to meet the deadline.
