Reforms must for seminaries: Sardar Yousaf

GUJRANWALA - Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf said that educational reforms were must for seminaries, rebuffing reports about involvement of religious seminaries in terrorism or any such activity across the country. Addressing solar panels distribution ceremony here at Jamia Qasimia the other day, he claimed that the incumbent government was paying full attention to create a peaceful atmosphere in the country. “National Action Plan (NAP) which was formulated after consultation with all the parties is being implemented acted upon for eliminating terrorism,” he pointed out, adding that unnecessary use of loudspeakers had been banned to maintain tranquillity across the country.
Sardar Yousaf informed that the government was revising Hajj and Umrah policy and it had decided to reduce Hajj and Umrah fares proportionate to the decrease in the POL prices. The minister also distributed solar panels among the students of seminary.
Reply a question, Sardar Yousaf declared that Moin Khan should be punished for visiting casino during the World Cup as “Gambling is haram and any Muslim taking part in it should be punished.”
