QUETTA - Security forces killed a terrorist and arrested three others during a search operation in Dera Bugti on Sunday.
Separately, an unidentified body was recovered from Chaman while four terrorists were arrested along with arms in Sibbi.
IG FC Major General Sher Afgan said that the paramilitary troops conducted search operation against the miscreants in Sui area of Dera Bugti. During operation, terrorists hiding in the area started firing at FC personnel who retaliated and returned fire.
In cross-firing one terrorist of a banned outfit was killed while three of his accomplices were nabbed and huge cache of arms was recovered from their possession.
Maj-Gen Sher Afgan said no leniency would be shown against the terrorists involved in creating law and order situation in the province.
Meanwhile, four more terrorists belonging to banned organisations were detained from Sibbi during separate search operations and arms were recovered from their possession. The detained terrorists were shifted to undisclosed destination for further interrogation.
Bullet-riddled body of an unidentified man was recovered in Chaman. The body was shifted to hospital for identification and medico-legal formalities.
GAS PIPELINE BLOWN UP IN DERA BUGTI: Unidentified men blew up a gas pipeline in Killi Mat of Pirkoh area in Dera Bugti district on Sunday.
Dera Bugti Levies sources said that unidentified miscreants planted an explosive device beside a pipeline carrying gas from Pirkoh gas field to Sui gas purification plant which went off damaging a portion of the 24-inch gas pipeline.
The explosion caused eruption of a huge fire in the pipeline which was extinguished by rescue workers soon after the incident.
Meanwhile, three persons, including two women, were injured in separate firing incidents in Shirani and Panjgur districts on Sunday.
Local Levies sources said unidentified armed assailants opened fire at a Quetta-bound passenger coach in Sungar area of Shirani district leaving two of its passengers, including a woman, injured. Identity of the injured could not be ascertained who had been shifted to a nearby hospital. The coach was coming from Rawalpindi. The assailants managed to escape from the crime scene.
In another incident, unidentified armed men attacked a private car in Washbud area of Panjgur district leaving a female occupant injured. Panjgur Levies sources said that the armed men opened fire at the car with automatic weapons. The local administration officials shifted the injured woman to Panjgur hospital where her condition was stated to be stable. Attackers managed to escape from the scene.
TRANSPORT STRIKES ENTERS 23RD DAY: The strike called by transporters in Quetta entered 23rd day on Sunday, adding to hardships of commuters in the City.
The transporters in Balochistan's capital had called a strike 22 days ago when the provincial government had ordered the bus stations to be shifted.
The passengers are facing severe problems due to the strike.
The bus owners have stated that the strike will not end till the government withdraws its decision.
