MQM calls for international help over Thar crisis

KARACHI- MuttahidaQaumi Movement (MQM)’s co-ordination committee has appealed to international NGOs to help drought victims of Sindh’s Tharparkar region.

MQM Rabita Committee while criticizing Sindh government for its negligence in helping the people of Thar and bringing the situation under control appealed to the United Nations (UN) and other international aid agencies to help famine victims.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui maintained that silence over government negligence would be criminal. He said that MQM is not politicizing the issue adding that party chief Altaf Hussain has directed to continue relief activities with continuity.

He claimed that MQM has sent aid worth more than 10 million rupees in drought affected areas.
