SWAT - Spell of rain and snowfall on the mountains of the Malakand Division brought the temperatures further down in Swat and its adjacent districts on Tuesday.
The rain and snowfall has turned the weather cold while the people have started wearing warm clothes and jackets. Rain coupled with cold winds lashed Mingora, Barikot, Kabal, Matta and Khawzakhela areas, while Malam Jabba and Kalam received heavy snowfall.
According to the Met office, about six inches of snow had fallen in Kalam and four inches in Malam Jabba.
Dark clouds surrounded Swat, Shangla and Dir upper with intermittent rain continues in some parts of the Malakand division.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) office has forecasted more drizzling in Swat and Shangla while scattered rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over hills is also expected in next 24 hours.
While on the other hand, victims of October 26 earthquake and its subsequent aftershocks, who have been living out in the open are facing additional problems due to rain and snowfall in Swat and upper parts of Malakand division.
