National consensus need of the hour to tackle terrorism: Rehman Malik

KARACHI- Ex-interior minister Rehman Malik has stressed the political parties for developing national consensus to tackle the menace of terrorism and unite against the defunct Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a major originator of terrorism in the country.

Talking to journalists at Jinnah International Airport Karachi today, Rehman Malik termed the terror acts of Taliban militants as attack on sovereignty of Pakistan. He claimed that despite TTP agreed for talks to restore peace but their intention was not good. "I have asked Professor Ibrahim to inform the nation of facts," Malik said. The government and Taliban were not on same page regarding the outcome of
peace talks, he noted. He urged all the parties to sink their political and personal differences and unite against Taliban in the larger interest of country and its people.
