Theft victims critical of police

OUR STAFF REPORTER DASKA - Several Daska people whose valuables have been stolen or snatched separately complained on Wednesday that the Daska city police were not ready to register cases. One Mian Naeem said that the police had not registered a case of motorbike stolen on July 31, 2011 from Rehmanpura here. Former UC Nazim Asad Hafeez said that five dacoits looted gold ornaments, motorcycle, cash, electronics and other valuables worth Rs 0.5 million on August 02, 2011, but a week has passed but the police still remain reluctant to register a case. Village Jhandu Sahi-Daska based Mudassar Dar said that two robbers snatched gold ornaments cash, mobile phones and other valuable worth Rs. 0.3 million at gunpoint from him and his sister-in-law near Daska Canal Bridge on July 31, 2011 but police have not yet registered a case. On August 05, 2011, some unknown accused stole a motorcycle (STL-8492) of Hajipura Daska based trader Farasat Ali from Sabzi Mandi Daska but his case has not yet been registered. On August 09, 2011, three motorcycles were stolen from Daska citys different parts in a day. unknown thieves took away a motorcycle (GAO-6238) of village Thakraa Mahey-Daska-based trader Khalid Mehmood from Patwar Khana Daska in front of the Daska City police station. Some thieves stole motorcycle (GAM-1510) of Defence Road Sialkot based Khurram Anwar Shaheedan Graveyard Daska city and a motorcycle (GAK-2338) of Shahid Malik from the same graveyard. Their cases have also not been registered yet. The perturbed victims have expressed grave concern over the Daska City police highhandedness.
