PESHAWAR - Score of internally displaced students staged a protest demonstration against the government and demanded their repatriation to safe areas of North Waziristan Agency for taking their BA, BSc examinations.
The protesters staged the protest in front of the Bannu Press Club. The demonstration was led by Tehsinullah Dawar and Faheem Wazir.
Holding banners and placards, the protesters chanted slogans to press for their demands and asked the government to make arrangements for their examinations in the safe areas of North Waziristan Agency so that their valuable time could be saved.
Addressing on the occasion, Faheem Wazir said that 80 per cent area of North Waziristan have been cleared of militants and now it is responsibility of the government to allow students to attend their examinations in their own areas.
They also asked the governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to provide an alternative place to students in Bannu for taking their BA, BSc examinations. The protesters also entered the sports complex to interfere in the process of food distribution. The protesters were dispersed when security forces opened aerial firing in the sports complex. Later the distribution process was resumed after blocking the entry of students to the venue.
