ISLAMABAD-Suspending the agenda of the day, the National Assembly held debate on the prevailing political situation in the country.
Initiating the debate, Mahmoud Khan Achakzai said his party will continue to play its role for protection of constitution, supremacy of Parliament and democratic system.
He said whoever believes in the constitution, supremacy of Parliament and democratic system, he will fully support him. He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif learnt from his experience that there would be no compromise on Constitution, Parliament, rule of law and democracy.
Mahmood Khan Achakzai said “we will stand against those who try to subvert the constitution.” He said “Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri may come to Islamabad and talk about their demands but they should not set a tradition to harm the democratic system through protest and rallies.” He declared an open war against those who try to harm the Parliament, Constitution and the democracy.
He said his party and other pro-democracy parties will hold a demonstration in favor of supremacy of constitution, Parliament and the democracy in Baluchistan on Independence Day.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad said we will not allow democracy to derail. He urged the PTI Chairman Imran Khan to use the forum of Parliament to resolve the issues.
He said the Prime Minister has also offered Imran Khan to sit together for resolving the issues.
The Minister of State said the government has initiated a number of development projects and urged the protesting parties not to create hindrance in the development process.
