RAHIM YAR KHAN - A man was shot dead and another injured by their close relatives over their marriage proposal here on Sunday. Eid Nawaz and Haq Nawaz were married to sisters of Zafar Iqbal and Arshad Iqbal. And sister of Eid Nawaz and Haq Nawaz was to marry Zafar Iqbal in the near future. Mother of Eid Nawaz refused to marry her daughter with Zafar Iqbal. Having a grudge over this issue, Zafar Iqbal and Arshad Iqbal opened fire on Eid Nawaz when he was opening his shop on airport road in the wee hours. Eid Nawaz died on the spot. Later, they reached at the residence of Haq Nawaz in Muslim Colony and tried to kill him by opening fire and attacking him with a knife. Haq Nawaz was seriously injured and was shifted to Sheikh Zayed Medical College Hospital, where his condition was stated to be out of danger. Police have not arrested the accused persons yet.
