COAS directs preparations for dignified return of all TDPs

RAWALPINDI- Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has expressed complete satisfaction on the progress of Zarb-e-Azb and Khyber-I operations. COAS has lauded the achievements made so far.

Addressing the 177th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at General Headquarters today, Chief of Army Staff underlined the need, for preparation and integration of efforts with Federal and Provincial governments, for safe and dignified return of all TDPs to their homes at priority.

During the meeting strategy for return of Temporary Displaced Persons (TDPs), including rehabilitation of NWA and rest of FATA was discussed in detail.

Forum was appraised with the progress of Operations Zarb-e-Azb and Khyber, and was briefed on the next phases of the operation. Ongoing Intelligence based operations, which have led to the apprehension of a large number of terrorists hiding across the country, were reviewed.

Appreciating the effort, General Raheel Sharif directed continuous evaluation of threat to be able to respond pre-emotively and an effective integration of efforts of all intelligence agencies to achieve optimum results against terrorists.

Apart from discussing matters of professional interest, the participants undertook a comprehensive review of internal and external security situation of the country. The forum was also briefed on the improving Pak Afghan bilateral relationship.
