Journalists snub admin, police


BAHAWALPUR - Press Club President Amin Basit and a number of local working journalists have expressed deep concern over the occupation of the Press Club building by a group. They said that the ongoing situation was very critical and any incident at any time could happen.
They alleged that the local administration and police have not taken any step to resolve the issue due to personal interests which was quite astonishing. Press Club President Amin Basit and entire journalist community of the city has demanded the local administration to take early step for the safety and security of the members of the Press Club. They warned that whole responsibility of any mishap will be on the local administration and police who have been giving shelter to the miscreants.
Yellow cab driving training starts: The 15-day long yellow cab driving training has started at the Police Lines here.
539 successful candidates of the yellow cab scheme draws have been taking part in the training session in which the participants have been guided through lectures and practical driving.
The participating candidates will undergo the examination after completion of the training session to get the competency and eligibility certificate for driving the allotted yellow cabs.
The under training candidates have paid Rs1500 as a fee for the course.
