PkSF, ISF activists clash leaves one injured

MARDAN – One student sustained minor injuries during clashes between two student groups of the Government Post Graduate College, Mardan.
The local police has registered cases against 33 students and arrested several students of PkSF, a student wing of ruling Awami National Party (ANP), and Insaf Student Federation (ISF), a student wing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), for creating law and order situation and firing on each other. The police also recovered weapons from their possession. Sources said that activists of PkSF and ISF had entered a brawl with each other on some unknown issue in the college ground and started firing and throwing stones and beat each other with sticks.  As a result students identified as Hamid of ISF got minor injures.
Meanwhile, this incident, a police party reached the spot and arrested 25 students identified as Shahid, Shaharyar, Ilyas, Asim, Dad Khan, Muhammad Arshid, Tariq, Muhammad Sagheer, Muhammad Farooq, Rauof Khan, Muhammad Israr, Jan M, Fahim Ahmad, Mansoor Ali, Wajid Ali, Abdus Salam, Rawaid Ali, Noor ul Haq, Sajid Ali, Safiullah. Usman Ali, M Kashif, Anwar Zeb, Inamullah, Umarzada while seven students including Hamid Shah, Asad, Bilal Bakhsh, Tahir Zaman, Shehzad, Sabir and Subhanullah escaped from the seen.
The police also recovered 30-bore pistol from Ilyas and one each from Arshid, Rauof and Jan Muhammad and registered a case against the students and started investigations.
Meanwhile, local PTI activists took out a protest rally in front of the college, which was by Riaz Pandakheil advocate, district information secretary of PTI and local leaders Muazam Khan Hoti and others. Protesters blocked Mardan Nowshera road in front of college and chanted slogans against local administration and police. Protesters alleged police that they have arrested student of ISF and left the students of Pk.S.F. however police high-ups came to the spot and satisfied the leaders of PTI that they will also arrest the Pk.S.F students.
During that time some students started throwing stones and wanted to damage the newly constructed Bacha Khan monument and other sign boards’ police wanted to stop them but they quarreled with police and police used lathi charge and dispersed the protesters.
