Two ladies among six drug peddlers held

RAWALPINDI - The anti-narcotics force (ANF) carried out various operations against drug mafias across the country and recovered huge quantity of narcotics, besides rounding up six drug peddlers including two ladies.
ANF Headquarters spokesman informed here on Friday that ANF conducted 4 operations in Lahore and Peshawar and arrested 6 persons including 2 lady drug smugglers. Operations resulted in recovery of 29-kg of charas and 6-kg opium. The arrested drug peddlers were identified as Salma alias Nazo, Mumtaz Bibi, Muhammad Khalid, Ehtesham-ul-Haq, Arshad and Amjid, he added. On the other hand, a court for the control of narcotic substances at Karachi has convicted an accused Asim in heroin smuggling case and awarded him life imprisonment.
ANF had recovered 11-kg heroin from his possession at Jinnah International Airport at Karachi in 2012 which he was trying to smuggle to Amsterdam.
In another case, the court forfeited Rs 7.3 million in SCB Bank Account, Peshawar Branch, pertaining to an accused Kamran Sikandari. Earlier the accused was convicted in narcotics offence.
