Aitzaz dismisses chances of military takeover

ISLAMABAD: Senate Opposition Leader Chaudhary Aitzaz Ahsan on Tuesday said that government was not in danger nor there were any chances of a military coup.

Barrister Aitzaz accused the government of posting Army Chief’s banners in Islamabad and defaming the opposition. He said that government could do anything they want but opposition always wanted to ease things out. Bill regarding Terms of References (TORs) for Panama Leaks will soon be presented before Senate, he added.

Aitzaz also said that he will attend consultative meeting of opposition parties which will be held on 19th July and every party would be taken into confidence before the presentation of TORs bill, he said. This will be a moral pressure on government, he added.

“Talk of leaving has become old, for God’s sake come now,” scream the posters, referring to General Raheel Sharif’s decision to step down at the end of his tenure this year.

They feature a large photograph of the mustachioed general.
