BAHAWALPUR - PPP leader Saleem Bhatti has said general elections would be held on time and plots against his party would fail. "The PPP will win the next general elections again, he said while talking to a delegation of workers on his residence Saleem Bhatti.
He rubbished the demand for early elections and said PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif hurt the federation by their politics of provincialism.
"Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif is staging a drama over power crises thought the PPP has been striving to cater to the energy needs," he added.
Talking of the Balochistan issue, he said his party leadership adopting measurer to heel the wounds of Balochs. He slammed Nawaz Sharif for, what he called, leaving the Balochs in lurch.
"Nawaz Sharif signed the Charter of Democracy (CoD) with Benazir Bhutto, pledging to discourage 'lotacracy' in the country but PML-N leadership promoted the culture of turncoats." He went on: "The PML-N has become a party of a city and it was suffering political isolation. The PML-N will judge its popularity in the local body's election and it will face defeat."
Bhatti said that stability of institutions vital and all institutions should work under the law. He said that PPP had always respected the judiciary and its verdicts adding that the PPP had also rendered sacrifices for a free judiciary.
But, he added that the PML-N attacked the Supreme Court building when Nawaz Sharif was summoned by the court. He said that the Bhutto family never comprised on their principles and rendered sacrifices for the cause of democracy. "The PPP is providing all facilities to the masses to raise their living standard and the government will continue to serve the people.

Lawyers demands set up LHC bench in Faisalabad: The Gojra lawyers observed a strike and boycotted court proceedings to support the demand of Faisalabad lawyers for establishment of a Lahore High Court bench in Faisalabad here on Saturday.
The bar general body meeting was held under the chair of its president Mian Naseer Ahmad.
