Sindh government contacts KP for assistance in finding clues to Karachi airport attack

 


KARACHI- The Sindh government has contacted Khyber Pakhtonkhwa government and sought details of attack on Bacha Khan Airport that took place in 2012.
In a letter to KP government, the Sindh government has sought investigation report of Peshawar airport attack, to get clues as it believed the attack on Peshawar airport two years ago was linked with Karachi airport attack on June 8, 2014.
At least five militants had attacked Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar on December 16, 2012. The militants had attacked the airport at night on Sunday, coinciding with the attack on Karachi airport that also occurred on Sunday at night. Militants in both the attacks were killed. In Peshawar airport attacks, security forces had established the attackers were Uzbeks. While the militants who attacked Karachi airport are also said to be Uzbeks.
Sindh government has asked KP to provide terrorists’ pictures, report of explosives, suicide bombers and different arms found from possession of attacks of Peshawar airport attack. Details of tattoos found on terrorists are also sought by the Sindh government, the letter added. The provincial government of Sindh will assess the report in connection to Karachi airport attack to determine similarities to track the real perpetrators.
