Tribesmen seek govt help to resolve land dispute

TANK - Elders of Fairozai tribe on Sunday sought help of the government against Zille Kheil tribe of Wazir clan for allegedly occupying 11,414 acre of their land and warned that they would stage a protest demonstration outside the Parliament House if the government failed to release their land within a weak. Addressing a press conference here in Tank Press Club, Atlas Khan, Baz Khan, Musa Khan, Ayub, Jamshed, Abbas and other elders of Fairozai tribe deplored that around 4000 armed persons of Zille Kheil tribe forcibly occupied their land with the help of some influential personalities of the district. “We had given our land to Zille Kheil tribe for pasture,” said Haji Atlas Khan. The elders blamed that the land grabbers were fully backed by the Collector Revenue Habibullah Wazir who belong to the same sub tribe of Wazir Clan. “we have approached to the DCO, DSP and other responsible authorities to get rid of the land grabbers but none of them bothered to take any action against the grabbers” the elders complained and added that police was even not agree to registering an FIR against the said tribe.  These elders have appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take sou moto action of the matter and threatened to stage protest demonstrations outside the parliament house and Peshawar high court if government failed to take an immediate action against the land grabbers.
Meanwhile, when contacted, DPO Ejaz Abed has said that that the land dispute between the Ferozay and Zille Kheil tribes had been continuing since 1934AD. 
He further underlined that the land dispute between the two tribes was under trial in the court of Assistant Political Agent Wana which will be fixed in his office and it does not concern to Tank Police.
