MQM withdraws disqualification petition against Imran Khan

Islamabad: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has withdrawn a petition it had filed with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) seeking disqualification of PTI chairman Imran Khan.

MQM MNA Kanwar Nadim had filed the petition taking the plea that Khan had concealed his and his family assets and he should be disqualified under article 62 of the constitution.

When Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza Khan took up the case today, counsel for MQM S.A Iqbal Qadri appeared and requested for withdrawing the petition.

The Chief Election Commissioner said he had no objection if the petitioner wanted to retract his petition.
The chief election commissioner accepted the MQM plea and disposed of the case.
