US to continue to work with Pakistan for regional peace

WASHINGTON- The United States says it would continue to work with the government of Pakistan to promote peace in South Asia.
This has been stated by member of the US Appropriations and Energy Committees, Senator Tim Johnson at a meeting with Pakistan's ambassador to the United States, Jalil Abbas Jilani in Washington. They also discussed the recent developments in Pak-US relations, Pak-India ties and the situation in Afghanistan.
The Pakistan envoy also briefed the Senator on the ongoing military operation against terrorists in North Waziristan. Jalil Abbas Jilani thanked Senator Johnson for his key contribution in promoting Pak-US relationship, being longtime friend and supporter of Pakistan in the US Congress.
